ADAPTIVE DOSING™

Adaptive Dosing™ connects continuous fluid intelligence, the G3 EDGE-AI BRAIN™, physical sample evidence and the G3 DOSE™ module to deliver approved additives or treatment chemistry in measured, configurable increments—then verifies the response.

From fixed treatment to adaptive control

Fluid condition changes continuously. Treatment should respond to evidence—not guesswork.

Move beyond calendar-based or one-time batch dosing.

Many industrial fluid-treatment programs depend on manual calculation, fixed treat rates and infrequent laboratory snapshots. Those methods can be effective, but they may not account for changing reservoir volume, leakage and makeup oil, contamination, operating load, ambient temperature, additive depletion or the actual response of the fluid system.

Adaptive Dosing™ adds a closed-loop intelligence layer. SmartOil® G3 observes selected fluid properties and machine context, applies configurable application rules, captures physical evidence when needed, commands controlled G3 DOSE™ delivery and continues monitoring to determine whether the treatment produced the intended result.

The objective is not to add more chemistry. It is to use the right approved chemistry only when the data supports it—and to create an auditable record of every decision and dosing event.

A closed-loop treatment workflow

Sense. Analyze. Confirm. Dose. Verify.

Adaptive Dosing™ combines real-time sensing with local Edge-AI decision logic and configurable safeguards. Laboratory confirmation can remain part of the loop whenever the application, chemistry supplier, asset owner or OEM requires it.

01

Sense

Monitor selected fluid properties, operating context and rates of change at useful intervals.

02

Analyze

The G3 EDGE-AI BRAIN™ compares the live condition against baselines, thresholds and application rules.

03

Confirm

Trigger Exception Sampling™ or scheduled laboratory testing when physical evidence is required.

04

Dose

G3 DOSE™ meters an approved treatment in bounded increments with flow and pressure verification.

05

Verify

Continue sensing, compare the response with the target and update the condition baseline.

Controlled by design: configurable maximum dose, minimum time between events, reservoir-level checks, pump and valve diagnostics, pressure limits, flow confirmation, manual authorization modes and a complete event log.

Problems addressed. Solutions delivered.

Close the gap between treatment intent and actual fluid response.

SmartOil® G3 is designed around the operating problems customers experience in the field—not around isolated sensor outputs.

PROBLEM

Fixed treat rates in changing systems

Reservoir volume, makeup oil, leakage, contamination and duty cycle can change after the original treatment calculation.

Adaptive Dosing™ response

Recalculates delivery around measured condition, known volume inputs and configurable operating rules.

PROBLEM

Manual variability

Different technicians may calculate, measure, document and inject treatment chemistry differently.

Adaptive Dosing™ response

Standardizes the dosing sequence, records delivery and supports repeatable fleet- or site-level rules.

PROBLEM

Over-treatment and chemical waste

Batch additions may exceed what is needed or may be repeated before the first treatment response is understood.

Adaptive Dosing™ response

Uses bounded micro-dosing, hold periods and post-dose verification to reduce unnecessary treatment.

PROBLEM

No closed-loop verification

A treatment may be added without confirming whether fluid condition, pressure loss, varnish potential or other indicators improved.

Adaptive Dosing™ response

Continues monitoring after treatment and escalates exceptions when the expected response is not observed.

G3 DOSE™ turns a fluid-treatment decision into a controlled physical action.

The modular dosing assembly can be configured around the treatment chemistry, fluid system, pressure range, environmental exposure and required level of redundancy

  • Dedicated treatment reservoir or approved bulk supply

  • connection

  • Precision positive-displacement or application-specific metering pump

  • Normally closed isolation and check-valve architecture

  • Pressure, flow and reservoir-level verification

  • Maximum-dose and time-based lockouts

  • Local manual service mode with permission controls

  • Event logging, alarms and fleet-level reporting

  • Retrofit-first installation for existing assets and mixed fleets

Built around the application

One closed-loop architecture. Multiple treatment objectives.

Each deployment begins with fluid compatibility, supplier guidance, asset-owner approval and clearly defined treatment targets. Adaptive Dosing™ does not assume that one chemistry or control rule fits every machine.

Varnish mitigation and lubricant restoration

Condition-triggered treatment for circulating lubricant and hydraulic systems where varnish, oxidation byproducts or additive depletion are confirmed.

  • MPC, RULER®, viscosity, acid number, water and particle results

  • Examples may include Fluitec DECON™ or Mobil™ Solvancer® where approved

  • Staged treatment, hold period and post-dose verification

Diesel fuel conditioning

Meter approved fuel treatment as temperature, geography, fuel blend, water risk or filter restriction changes.

  • Cold-flow improver for winter operating risk

  • Lubricity improver or approved biocide workflows

  • GPS, weather, fuel-quality and filter ΔP context

Over-treatment and chemical waste

Support tight-tolerance hydraulic systems affected by deposit formation, servo-valve sticking, filter loading or changing reservoir volume.

  • Paper-machine hydraulic power units

  • Mining excavators, drills and mobile hydraulic equipment

  • Presses, robotics and industrial process equipment

Selected marine lubricant applications

Condition-triggered treatment campaigns for approved marine lubrication systems where deposit control, oil consumption and component cleanliness are business-critical.

  • Main and auxiliary machinery lubrication systems

  • Hydraulic and circulating-oil systems

  • Application-specific OEM and lubricant-supplier review

The value proposition

Use less guesswork. Create more defensible maintenance decisions.

Lower treatment waste

Deliver bounded increments and pause for verification rather than repeating unmeasured batch additions.

Improved asset reliabilitye

Address developing fluid-condition risk before deposits, poor cold flow or contamination disrupts operation.

Reduced manual work

Automate repetitive measurement, dosing and documentation while keeping technicians out of higher-risk areas.

Longer fluid life

Support condition-based oil-life extension where laboratory evidence and supplier guidance justify continued service.

Fewer unplanned events

Use earlier fluid evidence to reduce valve sticking, filter plugging, cold-weather shutdowns and secondary damage.

Repeatable fleet rules

Standardize treatment logic across similar assets while preserving machine-specific baselines and limits.

Auditable treatment history

Record what was dosed, when, why, how much and what response followed.

Stronger EBITDA

Protect production, reduce emergency work, extend component life and improve use of maintenance resources.

Clear operating boundaries

Adaptive Dosing™ is intelligent control—not uncontrolled chemical injection.

It is not

  • A substitute for lubricant, additive-supplier or OEM requirements

  • A license to mix incompatible products

  • A universal treatment recipe for every asset

  • A replacement for laboratory confirmation where required

  • An open-loop pump operating without measured limits

It is

  • A configurable, application-specific dosing workflow

  • A connection between condition intelligence and physical intervention

  • A method for controlled micro-dosing and post-dose verification

  • A complete digital record supporting maintenance decisions

  • A modular capability within the SmartOil® G3 platform
