Adaptive Micro-Dosing: Real-Time Diesel Fuel Anti-Gel Conditioning

Several hours before the train reaches the Alberta cold front, the Edge-AI Brain identifies a rapidly decreasing fuel operability margin. Based on the locomotive's current GPS location, projected route, expected fuel temperature, and forecast ambient conditions, the proprietary predictive algorithm determines that the existing fuel blend may become susceptible to wax formation. Before fuel operability is compromised, the SmartFuel G3 DOSE™ module automatically meters a precise quantity of Cold Flow Improver (CFI) additive from an on-board reservoir into the locomotive fuel tank, when needed, as much as needed, all throughout the route.

As temperatures continue to fall, the treated fuel maintains its low-temperature flow characteristics, preventing paraffin crystal growth and preserving filter permeability. Fuel filter differential pressure remains within acceptable limits, fuel flow to the engine remains uninterrupted, and the locomotive continues operating normally despite the severe weather conditions.
